Sub:            Recruitment to the one post of Press Officer in Home Department             Government of NCT of Delhi in the pay scale of Rs.6500-200-10500/- by             transfer on deputation basis.

 

 

Sir,

 

            This Department proposed to fill up one post of  Press Officer in Home Department, Government of NCT of Delhi in the pay scale of Rs.6500-200-10500/- (classified as Group ‘B’ Gazetted, Non-Ministerial) under the Government of NCT of Delhi on transfer on deputation basis. The officers eligible for appointment are the officers under the Central/State Governments and Union Territories: -

 

(a)        (i)    Holding analogous posts, or

            (ii)   With 3 years service in the post in the scale of Rs.5500-9000 or equivalent or

            (iii)  With 8 years service in the post in the scale of Rs.5000-8000 or equivalent

                    and

 

(b)        The educational qualifications and experience essential: -

            (i)   Degree from a recognized University or equivalent with English and Hindi/

                     Urdu as a compulsory/optional subject.

            (ii)  Two years journalistic experience in a responsible capacity in a Newspaper/

                   News Agency of a standing or equivalent experience of publicity and Public

                   Relations work in a Government Department or Commercial publicity

                   Organization.

          (iii)   Familiarity with the requirement of various publicity media.

 

Desirable:-            Degree/diploma in journalism of a recognized University/Institute or

                        equivalent.

 

 

 

 

 

 

NOTE:  (i)    Qualification(s) is/are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC in  the case of

              candidates otherwise well qualified.

(ii)  The qualification (s) regarding experience is /are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC in the case of candidates belonging SC/ST if, at any stage of selection, the UPSC is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the required experience are not likely to fill up the vacancies reserved for them.

(iii) Govt. Employees who had responded to this department’s earlier circular F.No.17/1/87-GAD/Pt.-5505 dated 18-10-2002 are requested to apply afresh quoting this circular.

            .

            I am, therefore, to request you to circulate the vacancy amongst the officers/officials of your Department and forward applications (in Duplicate) from willing and eligible officers/officials, having requisite qualifications and experience. The applications of the eligible officers/officials should contain Bio-Data, Integrity Certificate, Vigilance Clearance Certificate, Penalty Statement for the last 10 years and attested copies of ACRs for the last 5 years i.e. from 1998-1999 to 2002-2003 and must be forwarded through proper channel. The applications should reach this office within six weeks of issue of this circular. Those applications that are received after the closing date and those without the documents as mentioned above will not be entertained.
